Mercy Health – Clermont Hospital Seeks Volunteers

Clermont Hospital is currently seeking volunteers in the following areas:
Same Day Surgery Desk - The surgery waiting room has a need for one to two volunteers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These volunteers work with the medical staff and take care of patients’ families while the patient is in surgery. Other special projects may be assigned as well. Hours are 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Information Desk - The information desk seeks a one to two volunteers to sign in patients, escort patients to different departments and serve as an information resource for visitors, patients and others. Available shifts are Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Administration/Nursing Floors Clerical - The nursing floors require anywhere from 10-15 patient information folders on any given day. The hospital seeks one to two volunteers to put these patient folders together as well as occasional new hire orientation binders. This volunteer would come in one day per week to put together patient folders for a specific nursing floor. Hours are flexible.
Rehabilitation Services - rehabilitation services is in need of a volunteer one-two days per week to help with clerical duties, equipment cleaning and miscellaneous duties. The shift runs from 8 a.m.-noon.
Messenger Program – The hospital needs three to four volunteers to be a part of the messenger program. These volunteers greet and meet patients, families and visitors as they arrive in the physician’s pavilion. They are the “go to” volunteers for patients entering the building. They provide information and escort patients to their doctor’s office or department for testing or treatment. Shifts are available from 8 a.m.-noon and from 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Circle of Caring - The hospital two to three volunteers to be a part of the Circle of Caring. These volunteers visit patient rooms with a cart full of magazines, books and puzzles along with other miscellaneous items. Shifts are available from 2-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and all weekend hours.
Char Mae Gift Shop - The gift shop, which is operated by the Guild of Clermont Hospital, needs two to three volunteers. These volunteers work with customers to check out their purchases and perform various gift shop duties. This is the fundraising arm of the hospital and proceeds go towards needed medical equipment and patient needs. Shifts are available on weekends or evenings from 4-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Volunteers in all roles receive orientation and training to help them get started and become comfortable in the hospital environment.
