Mercy Health—Anderson Hospital is proud to announce the launch of its new Emergency Medicine Residency program, which has received initial accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). This new program will begin training the next generation of emergency medicine physicians, focusing on community-based care and excellence in medical education.

"We are thrilled to introduce our new Emergency Medicine Residency program, which embodies our commitment to excellence in patient care and medical education. This program will ensure that we continue to serve our community with highly skilled and compassionate physicians," said Dr. Kathy Healy-Collier, DHA, President of Mercy Health—Anderson Hospital. The Emergency Medicine Residency program at Mercy Health—Anderson Hospital is founded on the principle of serving patients and the community with the highest standard of care. The program is designed to develop competent, caring, and emotionally intelligent emergency medicine physicians who are not just equipped to meet the needs of their patients but also to contribute significantly to the health and well-being of our community. "Our mission is to cultivate a learning environment that prioritizes the well-being of our patients while fostering the growth of our residents and attending physicians," said Dr. Robert Blankenship, Program Director.

"We are committed to training physicians who are clinically excellent and possess the collaborative spirit necessary to lead and serve in our community." In addition to training residents, the program will deepen the skills of current attending physicians, enabling them to become better educators, researchers, and leaders within the specialty of emergency medicine. The curriculum prepares physicians to address healthcare's evolving challenges and make significant contributions to the field. "We believe that by empowering our attending physicians to excel as teachers and researchers, we are investing in the future of emergency medicine," stated Dr. William Lee, Chief of Staff at Mercy Health - Anderson Hospital. "Our program is not just about training residents; it's about elevating the entire practice of emergency medicine in our community."
