Sign and foreign language interpreters provide the Deaf and patients with non-English language preference interpreting services for medical treatment and care at no charge.
For deaf and hard of hearing patients and their companions, we offer on-site interpreters, on demand VRI technology and other tools and services, such as CART (live transcription), sound amplifiers, qualified note-takers and more.
For patients who speak other languages, we provide video, phone and on-site interpreters so they can communicate easily with providers. We also provide written translation of important documents in several languages.
Language Interpreters
Mercy Health provides free aids and services to people with disabilities and language access needs to communicate effectively with us, such as:
- Qualified sign language interpreters
- Written information in other formats (large print, Braille, audio, accessible electronic formats, other formats)
- Help in other languages (like interpreters and written translations)
All patients have access to interpretation services 24/7 at no personal cost to them.
