What to Expect
You will find the emergency medicine program director and faculty welcoming, supportive, and committed to your success. The program provides a comprehensive orientation to ensure you are ready to provide care in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. As a resident you will care for a diverse patient population including those who are socioeconomically vulnerable and underserved. The program brings a balance of clinical experiences and provides elective rotations to tailor your education. You will graduate competent and prepared to care for the community you choose to serve.

Call Schedule
While on an EM rotation, residents will not be on call, except for senior residents covering sick calls.  While on off-service rotations, residents will adhere to the call schedule standard for that specialty.   All call schedules will comply with resident work hour rules.

Average Hours a Week
We are committed to compliance with ACGME’s Clinical Experience and Education (formerly known as Duty Hours). We strive to offer an effective program structure that provides work-life balance while enabling residents to gain requisite education and clinical experiences, as well as reasonable opportunities for rest and personal activities. Clinical and educational work averages from approximately 60 to 80 hours per week depending on rotation schedule.
