Academic Stipend

What to Expect

The internal medicine program director and faculty are committed to your success. The program provides a comprehensive orientation to ensure you are ready to provide care in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. As a resident you will care for a diverse patient population with complex pathology and you will help those who are socioeconomically vulnerable and underserved. The program brings a balance of clinical experiences and provides elective rotations to individualize your education. The program provides a robust didactic curriculum including Case Reports, Journal Clubs, M&M Conferences, Board Prep Curriculum, Specialty Lectures by faculty and more. You will graduate as a competent, compassionate internist ready to enter fellowship, primary care or hospital medicine.

Call Schedule

We have designed curriculum in such a way that there are no 24-hour calls. Shifts for all rotations are never scheduled for longer than 12 hours. For appropriate coverage, we utilize day and night float systems. 

Average Hours a Week

We are committed to compliance with ACGME’s Clinical Experience and Education Requirements (formerly known as Duty Hours). We strive to offer an effective program structure that provides work-life balance while enabling residents to gain requisite education and clinical experiences, as well as reasonable opportunities for rest and personal activities. Clinical and educational work averages from approximately 45 to 75 hours per week depending on rotation schedule.
