Program Overview

With four residents per class, the St. Vincent Medical Center Pediatric Residency Program offers the close-knit environment of a small program with the clinical breadth of a tertiary care medical center. Residents gain progressive responsibility across inpatient pediatrics, critical care, neonatology, emergency medicine, ambulatory care, and pediatric sub-specialties while working closely with faculty throughout training.

Our program is committed to evidence-based education and preparing residents to deliver competent, compassionate care to children and adolescents. Residents benefit from hands-on learning opportunities, a broad range of clinical experiences, and an educational environment that supports their development into confident, well-rounded pediatricians.

St. Vincent Medical Center is a tertiary care facility serving a diverse patient population. The Emergency Department is a Level I Trauma Center for adults and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, providing residents with exposure to a broad range of pediatric conditions and acuity levels. This setting gives residents the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for independent practice.
